Fairy tale Synopsis

1.       Briefly outline the story line of your play.

The story line of my play was there was a girl called Dorothy who was best friends with Wilma but there friendship crumbled when during a school day of valentine's Wilma's Crush called Joseph the most finest boy in the school who she had Been crushing on since year 2 asked Dorothy to be his valentine. The jealously of Wilma led to to a long and painful hatred of Dorothy for 20 years. In those years Wilma began to become evil and locked herself away from every naked eye planning her revenge on Dorothy.20 years past and Wilma had planned her dirty revenge to kill Dorothy and marry her Joseph but in the end Wilma does not succeed and ends up being banished away into the towns dungeon by the Wizard of OZ.

2.       What are the issues explored in your play?

The issues explored in my play was trust issues.we linked our play to Snow White using key character tics like the scene of the witch disguised as a old lady giving an apple to Snow White and making Dorothy also have a love for apples. We used this idea to link to trust issues because Snow White trusted the Witch thinking she was an innocent old lady and took the apple making her fall into a deep sleep. We then used this scene in our play but instead of Snow White we used Dorothy.I think personally this scene was the main scene because it really showed trust issues and showed the moral of our play and gave the impression to our audience don't trust everything and everyone could it could have a bad consequence, the consequence of Dorothy was that she ended up in Wilma's Dungeon.

3.       Why did you choose to base your play around this/these issues?

We chose our play to based around this issue because many children at the age of audience would have this issue around there whole life, trust issues between friends in school, trust issues between people on street and trusting things that may look kind but ending up being the total opposite. Not only they would experience it at school but also at work with adults and unfortunately in the worst case your own family members in your own household many people experience mothers and fathers or sisters and brothers being untrustworthy to one another.

4.       Do you think this/these issues are relevant to your Year 6 audience?

I     I really do think its relevant because its what they will experience in life as they grow up going into secondary school and work,i really find it a strong issue like many others out there because there many story's on the news already talking about this issue of children getting missing or trusting strangers on streets and many of there parents would say to them "Do not trust anyone or talk to any strangers" even my mum says that to me at my age.

        5.       What would you like your audience to learn/explore by watching your play?
I
I    I would like our audience to learn from watching our play that trusting everything and everyone is very risky in life so you got to be very in life to things people say to you,Look to you and do to you because the world is a big place and many people may be kind and loving but some may pretend to look like that but actually there really bad people but this play wasn't to scare them but just to keep them aware of what is going on out there and what they may face as they grow up in life it also teaches that there still kids and they should enjoy it while they can and have fun but at the same time be careful.

6      6.       What character do you play?
T
T     The character i play is Dorothy from the Wizard Of Oz but the twist is my character isn't anything like to the original Dorothy which is seen on TV,instead of my character being brave, cunning and witful young Kansas girl my character instead is Shy and witful and very sweet, who has a strange love for apples.

       7.       How does your character help develop the drama/help young children to explore your chosen issue? My character helps to develop the drama by making my character personality very similar to the our audience making her very shy and sweet which you would normally be seen in a year 6 girl when you first approach them.During the play Dorothy is very forgetfulness which is very normal for a child but my character was very playful and really related to our audience members.
